Welcome to Holy Cross Hospital in Haslemere, Surrey. The Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross of Liège established the Hospital as a tuberculosis sanatorium in 1917. Today, the Hospital helps people with severe disability and long-term conditions to achieve the best possible quality of life.
The Hospital provides a comfortable, homely environment for 40 patients who are highly dependent, need highly detailed care plans, skilled care and treatment. Our team provides professional specialist services in a friendly, safe and calm environment. This approach allows us to challenge the limits to recovery on a daily basis and has earned us a reputation for being a centre of excellence.
We place a great deal of emphasis on learning and development. Our staff are encouraged and supported to further their skills by taking part in training and we regularly hold knowledge sharing events with other professionals.
There is a long history of volunteering at Holy Cross. Our volunteers make it possible to offer patients a wide-range of recreational activities, outings and home visits. The work of the volunteers is supported by the fund-raising efforts of the Friends of Holy Cross. They raise money to buy equipment and to fund activities such as the Art Group. In 2015, the Friends and volunteers were presented with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This award recognises outstanding work carried out in communities for the benefit of others.
Holy Cross Hospital has an integrated Physiotherapy Centre. The Centre has a well-equipped gym and a hydrotherapy pool. Our team of physiotherapists and hydrotherapists treat a range of conditions and aim to restore patient mobility and independence. See The Physiotherapy Centre website for more information.Read More
