Bringing Hydrotherapy to Haslemere

Where is the development to be built?

The hydrotherapy pool will be in a new building connected to the existing hospital to allow easy access. There will be a new front entrance that will serve both the Hospital and the new facilities.

Physiotherapy

The development will include a new Physiotherapy Centre for the treatment of outpatients.

Consulting Room

The existing Consulting Room will become an office in the new development and a new Consulting Room is designed to be adjacent to the Physiotherapy Centre and will share waiting and office facilities.

Energy efficiency

A great deal of attention has been given in the design to ensuring that all aspects of this new development achieve high standards of energy efficiency. As well as high insulation levels in the building, the air conditioning equipment will recover heat from the humid air extracted from the pool and changing areas. Water and space heating will be provided mostly by solar energy captured by collectors on the pool roof. All parts of the building will benefit from natural daylight, the pool hall in particular having a glass wall facing to the east across the valley. This and the use of natural materials will combine to give the new development a modern and distinctive feel, providing both an enjoyable ambience and therapeutic treatment.
