
Professional Development ManagerAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to take forward our learning and development strategy. You will be accountable for maintaining the high profile of learning and development throughout the hospital. You will also support the clinical effectiveness and audit components of the clinical governance plan, and play a major role in preparing for Healthcare Commission inspections. You will have relevant clinical experience with a strong interest in education, good communication skills, be a good team-worker and the ability to motivate others. Working conditions are excellent, including involvement with other professionals. We have our own dedicated training centre in a separate building within the grounds. Salary is dependent on experience but is equivalent to NHS rates. Free, on-site parking is available. We have an active in-service programme and provide support for CPD. We are able to offer single room accommodation, on site, with shared facilities. This accommodation is not suitable for families.
Staff car parking is available free of charge, although we encourage staff to use public transport where possible.
The hospital has a staff dining room with rest areas, which is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and supper. Free tea & coffee is available to all staff on their breaks throughout the 24 hour period.

We operate an open-door policy at Holy Cross and staff are free to talk to managers at any time during their hours of work, subject to their availability. Annual appraisals are carried out and as a result, all staff have their own personal development plan which sets out their learning and development objectives.
The hospital has a comprehensive training and development plan, which takes into account individual and team learning objectives. We offer support in obtaining recognised qualifications, such as NVQ and work closely with local education and training providers.
